Flash Camp is returning to Birmingham!

On March 24th, Flash Midlands will be hosting it’s third Flash Camp at the Birmingham Library Theatre.

Over an afternoon and evening, experts in Flash, Flex and AIR will share their knowledge through presentations and talks. Come and meet some of the Adobe team, Professionals, Community Leaders and network with fellow developers and designers.

Whether you’re just getting started with the Flash Platform, or consider yourself a pro, there’s something for you! There’ll also be giveaways galore!

Saturday 5th February, 11am to 1pm at The Nottingham Trent University

Dan Sumption has worked across a wide range of web technologies and
business sectors: from co-founding one of the UK’s first web agencies
in 1995, through producing award-winning advertising at top-5 global
agency Leo Burnett, to his more recent work on web applications and
embedded software for BBC iPlayer and YouView TV Ltd.

He will be talking about the things he has learned during 15 years working
in the UK Internet industry, and about tools and practices for effective
working.

In this session we will be looking at what’s new in Flash Builder ‘Burrito’ including new productivity features, the new multi-screen workflow for developingapplications for mobile and devices as well as the improved workflows between Flash Builder ‘Burrito’ and Flash Catalyst ‘Panini’.

Flash Midlands foreign correspondant (Trevor Ward) is flying off to LA to
catch up on all the latest new development and gossip from Adobe MAX.

At the meeting Trevor will report back to us regarding all of the news from
the states about Flash, Flex, AIR and Adobe’s longer terms plans for the
Flash Platform.

Speaker:

Grzegorz Kozakiewicz is an accomplished art director, designer + craftsman.

His ability to physically build mixed media art into digital experiences has
garnered him international awards for various interactive mixed media, stop
motion and film projects.

Most notably, Grzegorz’s Pencil Rebel project which has been featured on a
large list of publications and websites including Disney. He has also been
recognized by FITC Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, Webby Awards and also FWA.

He currently holds the position of Concept Director at fuse8.com digital agency.

Behind the Scenes: Pencil Rebel

“Whenever you use advanced technology or a pencil, what matters is  the initial idea and the process of it’s creation.”

During this session, you will
be presented with a range of creative  jump-starts to help maximize your workflow in photography &  stop-motion and how to mesh these traditional art processes into  modern flash development.

Presented by award-winning mixed media project creator Pencil Rebel.

You will also see other samples of mixed media usage in web-based
commercial projects such as Vivid Display – Large Format Printing
and the Allen Design Group Digital Agency website.
